Although most young are produced through sexual reproduction, females that are isolated from males sometimes produce offspring through parthenogenesis.

Komodo dragons are known for their notorious, venomous hunting strikes.

They have an excellent sense of smell, they can detect rotting prey from 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) away.

Their tails are as long as their bodies.
